The mix-up appeared online when Enrique, instead ofcontacting Lecce coach Luca Gotti, sent a message to an Instagram fan page.

And Norway’s Marcus Pedersen was caught up in the confusion.

Enrique insisted both could be of interest to Gotti, who guided Lecce to Serie A safety last season.

Cantwell WILL be allowed to leave though.

And SunSport understands Saudi side Al-Qadsiah are closely monitoring the situation.

They have already landed ex-Gers chief executive James Bisgrove, and maybe set to raid Ibrox again.

Cantwell was Michael Beale’s first signing in January 2023, but isn’t in Philippe Clement’s plans.

Al-Qadsiah signed ex- Real Madrid defender Nacho last week, and it’s understood they are also keeping tabs on Gers captain James Tavernier.

Ibrox boss Clement is in the middle of a huge Rangers rebuild.

Jon McLaughlin, Kemar Roofe, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and John Lundstram have already left.

Cantwell, Tavernier and Connor Goldson could follow.

The stopper is wanted by Birmingham, while striker Cyriel Dessers could be set for a switch to PAOK.

Reports last week claimed the Nigerian international had tabled a transfer request in a bid to force the move.

Dessers, 29, has been linked with a move to Saudi, with Gers looking to recoup the £4.5million they paid last summer.

Meanwhile, Hamza Igamane is set to be confirmed as their sixth signing of the summer.

The 21-year-old has arrived in Glasgow, after Gers struck a £1.5m deal with AS Far Rabat last week.

The striker has agreed a five-year deal, with official confirmation expected later today.

The Moroccan Under-23 star sailed through his medical last week, with international clearance now being finalised.

But Gers have missed out on Yusuf Kabadayi.

The Bayern Munich winger, 20, was in talks over a move to Ibrox, but is now set to join FC Augsburg for £850,000.
