During my career in media I've never made it to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity but I've found the next best thing...Last week The Women in Programmatic Network hosted a small group of women on a boat, just off Salford Quays, for an evening of Cannes inspired content. We heard from some brilliant speakers (more detail in the post below) & it was a great excuse to meet with some of my favourite women in media. The sun even made an appearance! ☀ ☀ ☀ Special shout out to Nicole Nixon who did a brilliant job coordinating the event. Looking forward to next year already!

Our next Bloom North event takes place on the 18th July (5pm, Feel Good Club, MCR). This is a particularly special event focused on getting to the root of challenges around Redundancy, Disability and Miscarriage. Ultimately we want to encourage people to talk more openly about the challenges they face both day-to-day and in the workplace. Tickets are available via the Bloom link below...🙌❤️

Yesterday myself & the Bloom North panel team hosted the latest panel event - 'Dismantling Stigmas & Stereotypes' at Home MCR, courtesy of Clearchannel. 🙏 Full transparency, I didn't attend the event in person due to other work ties, but I did have the luxury of meeting & speaking to our wonderful panellists in the weeks leading up to the event as the team worked to put together a compelling panel discussion. During the process I discovered a few things:- It's obvious, but people are so brave. We asked these individuals to be vulnerable & share their personal experiences & without wavering they were all quick to agree to be part of the conversation. A conversation which was extremely thought-provoking & needed. - Networks are powerful communities. Bloom North has brought me closer to people I would otherwise never have met. It's made me feel part of something meaningful &, most importantly, inspired me to take risks to make things better for others. - Building self worth will propel you forwards. Particularly among women, too much energy is wasted finding fault in ourselves based on other peoples' perceptions. The first Bloom North panel event of the year delved into personal branding and authenticity. In case you missed it...Jackie Adedeji hosted a brilliantly insightful conversation with the talented Claudia Cardinali Lindsey Kane & Coralie Watson.A lot of the conversation resonated with me, but if I had to choose one take out it was 'to be mindful of who's feedback you take on'. I have been known to overthink feedback in my professional life & put too much weight behind what other people think of me. Rarely do I challenge the source of the feedback. It's something I will absolutely be taking forwards with me. As sponsors of the event Sky Media UK were able to show support for Bloom North & it's chosen charity for 2024, Miscarriage Association.
